Chenghua, aged 9, is working on a school project about space travel with her best friend. However, she cannot find enough time for her project as she is constantly called upon to translate for her parents, who do not speak English and depend on her for their everyday life. Unbeknownst to them, this places a heavy burden on her young shoulders.

Overwhelmed, Chenghua tries to break free from her family. Her desire for space and natural enthusiasm become her guiding lights as she takes those important steps.
